generate a printing industry evolution as comfort and large savings with sport
trainers. A firm behind it has even made the plans available for free to show
off the fabric 'ink' it has created cool low cuts retail value £120 a pair. Watch

The 'fabric ink' Show is printed
layer by layer as a single object. Owner
simply needs to add laces to wear. They
are the first sneakers you can print at home - and in any colour you want. Inspired by the hit film Back to the
Future, the blocky, futuristic footwear can be printed on any 3D printer. The sneaker as it appears straight from

Owners of a 3d
printers can buy the special ink and create their own.
The design can be
tweaked to fit their size and even how soft they want them. Just three parts
are printed - the shoe and a tongue insert for the left and right. The sneakers
were created by the printer firm Recreus to show off their new 'fabric' ink. Called
filaflex, the 1.75mm thread is used by the 3D printer to create clothing. 'During
months we have investigated and work hard to develop the 1.75mm filaflex
format,' the Spanish firm said. 'Sneakerbots are the actual proof that shows
filaflex works becoming in the most elastic filament on the market. The firm
says the shoes can be printed on any home printer, and were inspired by 1980s
films. 'The sneakerbots by Ignacio Garcia are inspired by 80s films such as
back to the future, Star Wars, Short Circuit etc,' it said.


The shoes are the
firm's second attempt at DIY footwear, although it admitted the first, a slip
on show, was less practical. By 3D printing the shoes at home, users can also
customise them to their exact size and even choose how soft they are. The firm
behind the shoes has put the plans online so anyone with a 3d printer can make
their own. 'It should be noted that the new design is more comfortable than
first one. 'You can vary the softness changing the percentage of infill. 'The
tongue makes that laces don´t hurt foot. Hope you print them, wear them and be
the coolest maker in your city. The shoe's design can be altered to fit the
users, with layers being moved to made it softer.
