Just A Pardon.

Where did the 2011, as one 2013 turkey go, Americans gather around a table for each and every traditional Christmas.
This is a celebration, with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and turkey Photos Presidential Turkey Pardon. As two fortunate birds are saved from the serving plate and sent to the White House, where they are granted a stay. As here became the first presidential pardon to be presented to a turkey 1947. This was at a Thanksgiving ceremony in the White House was by Harry S Truman. President Barack Obama as first lady Michelle and children celebrate the same pardon ceremony for 2015 before their thanksgiving banquet for Christmas in the White House.
But what exactly happens to these turkeys after that grand ceremony takes place? Here's as book club finds the answer as it has become tip back into the supply chain for your thanksgiving.
Over the years they’ve been sent to a variety of farms to live out their days in peace. This year, they’re headed to Turkey Hill Farm in Morven Park in Virginia, the same farm they were sent to in 2013 and 2014. Prior to that, between 2010 and 2012, the history of these pardoned turkeys spent their days at Washington’s Mount Vernon estate. But this was down to tradition, this was a historically feet not a residence farm. But from 2005 to 2009, the birds were sent to the Disneyland Resort in California. As then or the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and for many years before that, they resided in Fairfax County, Virginia. But this year’s turkeys, both thought to be males, Tom One and Tom Two, might be in for a surprise as their finals return takes them to the supply chain. This is the reason according to Dean Norton, the director at Mount Vernon in charge of livestock, the so consumption they’re overweight and not expected to live after the president pardon.
It is not for longevity,” Norton told CNN. “Some of the pardoned turkeys have been pretty short.

after his short stay, he had something of a heat stroke. A spokesperson for Morven Park told the Huffington Post. These turkeys avoided the dinner table in 2012, both died within a year of being pardoned. Three of the four turkeys pardoned in 2010 and 2011 died less than five months after leaving the White House and the final turkey from 2011 lived for only through the ceremony and then keeled over.
“The birds are fed in such a way to increase their weight,” Norton told CNN. “As all Americans want a nice big breasted turkey and so they are fed high protein diet and they get quite large. The turkeys organs had been though ordeal, as that they are in this bigger bird are meant for a much smaller bird. They just can’t handle the extra pressure by the added weight.
